Beginning in 1962, Ed spent 16 years working in various model shops in the Detroit area and West Michigan. In 1978, he decided it was time to venture out on his own. He and a partner opened Arbor Model and Pattern, Inc. in August of 1978. In the middle 1980's Arbor began building check fixtures in addition to models and duplicating aids. It wasn't long before Arbor became a predominantly gage and fixture shop, prompting the name change to Arbor Gage and Tooling, Inc. Ed bought out his partner in the early 1990's and continues to own and operate the business he began in the plant in which it was founded. Ed feels that with the team presently in place, Arbor is better prepared than ever to continue the growth it has enjoyed in recent years.

Bob has served as Estimating Manager at Arbor Gage since joining the company in 1993. Prior to his time at Arbor, he held positions as project engineer, program manager, and lead tooling designer. Bob has spent some 35 years within the automotive manufacturing environment, primarily in the stamping, plastics, and die cast industries. He has also had exposure to the appliance and furniture industries. Bob has completed training in GD&T, statistical process control, and project management.

Wayne joined the Arbor team in November of 1990 as a cost estimator, coming from a tier one O.E.M. automotive supplier. In 1992, Wayne took over the role of sales engineer, and in 1998 assumed his current position of project manager. Wayne has a strong understanding of GD&T, statistical process control, and gage repeatability and reproducibility along with many years of experience in the automotive industry in the quality/engineering fields. As project manager at Arbor, Wayne is responsible for ensuring that every project meets each customer's specifications and requirements.

As Plant Manager, Art is responsible for the scheduling and timely delivery of quality products. Having started in the business as a metal stamping press operator, Art has worked in the automotive industry for over 20 years. After moving into the quality arena, he has held many positions while involved in education in the Quality Science field. This background has provided Art with a solid understanding of end users' needs and the quality requirements necessary to excel in this challenging industry.

Tim completed his apprenticeship program in December of 1988 through NTMA (National Tooling & Machining Association). Following his apprenticeship, Tim continued to work in the Tool and Die Industry as a Die Maker until the early 1990’s. An industry slow down led to his accepting a position with a specialty machine company, thereby expanding his knowledge of the trade. Shortly thereafter, Tim joined Arbor where he had the opportunity to learn the art of fixture building from a seasoned journeyman builder. After building fixtures for eight years, Tim was trained to run the CMM machine in the quality lab. This experience has provided Tim with a well- rounded understanding of all aspects of fixture building, allowing him to support Arbor in a wide variety of responsibilities during the last five years, most recently as Technical Representative.
